Oregon ComSoc: V2X – THE COOPERATIVE SAFETY REVOLUTION
November 7, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
In light of the ongoing rise in road fatalities, despite significant advancements in automotive safety technology, a fundamental transformation towards cooperative safety is imperative. Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology, a communication system facilitating interaction between vehicles, infrastructure, pedestrians, and cyclists, holds immense potential to revolutionize the transportation landscape by enhancing safety, efficiency, and convenience.
As of April 2023, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in the United States has applauded the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for granting a pivotal waiver, permitting several players to initiate the deployment of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology on U.S. roads and highways. This collaborative effort between the public and private sectors has coalesced around cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X), ensuring a unified, nationwide approach to V2X technology implementation.
Join us for a compelling talk by Jeffrey Fefer and Ora Priziment of AutoTalks. They provide an insightful overview of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication, its current status, and the exciting challenges and opportunities ahead."
