Volunteer Workday at Deer Creek
February 8 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Come help the Stanford Conservation Program plant trees and shrubs along Deer Creek on Saturday, February 8th from 9am to 12pm! We are continuing our work restoring the riparian corridor for wildlife, including California red-legged frog. The planting site is located at 3450 Deer Creek Road.
TRANSPORTATION INFO:
There are several options for transportation to the planting site:
1) There will be vehicle parking available in the Rubrik parking lot at 3495 Deer Creek Road (Google Maps link here).
2) Biking is encouraged; the site is about a 20 minute bike ride from Tresidder Union. Don’t want to ride alone? A bike peloton will be lead by John Lowndes. Meet at Tresidder Union at 8:45am (check back for more details!) Bike parking available on site.
3) We will be sponsoring a shuttle that will run from Tresidder Union to the bus stop at 3500 Deer Creek Road and back. Pick up will be at 9:00am and a return trip will get you back to campus at 12:15pm. (There is a possibility that we may add the following additional trips: the shuttle leaving the planting site for a 10:30am return to Tresidder, and a pick up at Tresidder at 10:30am).
As always: wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, long pants, and closed-toed shoes. Don’t forget a water bottle! The Conservation Program will provide gloves and any tools you might need to get the job done.
