SLE Salon: A Jewish Childhood in the Muslim Mediterranean
April 11 @ 7:15 pm - 8:15 pm
Lia Brozgal is Professor of French and Francophone Studies. Prior to joining the UCLA faculty in 2008, she was an appointed lecturer in History and Literature at Harvard University. Her research and teaching encompass a variety of topics in contemporary French and North African literature, film, culture, and history. Her co-editor, Rebecca Glasberg, is the Reinhard Postdoctoral Fellow in Jewish Studies. Her work reconceptualizes the place of Jews and Jewishness in French-language North African literary production from the mid-twentieth century to the present day. Together, they will discuss their co-edited volume, and working in postcolonial Jewish studies today.
The SLE Salons are a great way to explore a wide range of topics in a relaxed and engaging environment. Join us for lively conversations with writers, artists, and thinkers as they share their perspectives and insights. Hosted at Florence Moore Hall, the Salons are open to the Stanford community and the public – come curious and ready to engage!
