Earth Planetary Science Seminar – Dr. Dr. Laurie Leshin “Dare Mighty Things Together: Exploring Space with NASA JPL”.

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is on a bold mission to explore the frontiers of space for the benefit of all humanity. From advancing our understanding of our home planet, to uncovering the mysteries of Mars, to discovering thousands of other worlds – the teams at JPL dare mighty things together by imagining and then achieving what others might think impossible.
Join Dr. Laurie Leshin, director of JPL, to hear about the latest missions and innovations that are helping us answer the most awe-inspiring questions about our solar system, the universe, and life as we know it.

Bio: Dr. Laurie Leshin is a distinguished geochemist and space scientist. She currently serves as director of JPL as well as vice president and Bren professor of geochemistry and planetary science at Caltech, which manages JPL for NASA. In this role, Leshin oversees Earth and space science research, technology development, and approximately 40 active missions in Earth science, astrophysics, planetary science and beyond.
Prior to leading JPL, she was president of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, served as Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute School of Science dean, and held senior executive positions at NASA.
